Daddy's Little Clown
By Sherrie
I was at work and wasn't going to get off until a little later than usual. My daughter, Annica, who was 4 years old, was going to her Christmas concert for preschool. Annica loved to wear makeup, especially Mommy's lipstick. I usually put on a little bit of lipstick and a very small amount of blush, and it made Annica feel grown up.
Well, I got home at around 6:30, and Annica's concert started at 7. So I went in the house and really quickly got dressed. When I came out of the room, my husband had makeup put on Annica and boy, did he really have the makeup on her! She had on lipstick (bright red) all over her lips and messed all over her face and blush as red as a clown's face. To tell you the truth, she really did look like a clown.
I started to laugh and at the same time got angry because we had a half an hour until it started, and we had to get all the makeup off of her. Well, her father and I scrubbed and scrubbed, and finally it all came off.
We made it to the concert three minutes before Annica had to go on stage. What a day! When we sat down at the concert, I started asking him what he was thinking, and he said, "Gosh, I thought it looked nice."
