Amateur Gynecologist

While at a routine OB visit, my husband and I encountered an abnormally long wait to see the doctor. After an hour of waiting, we were famished and a bit stir crazy. My husband heard the doctor outside and slipped on one of the latex gloves and told me to hop up on the examining table and put my feet in the stirrups. (OK, my doctor is the comic, my husband is a rather shy – but handsome – corporate controller). I had a long skirt on that day, and just before the doctor walked into the room, my husband slipped his head under my skirt as if giving me an exam.
When the doctor walked in, my husband pulled his head out from under the skirt and slipped off the glove with a thwap! "OK", he said, "I think you're all good!" He turned to the doctor, who didn't know whether to laugh or walk out and said, as seriously as he could muster, "Oh, we're through here." The doctor just laughed along with the two of us and it made for a nice ending to the wait.
When the visit was over, we all walked out of the room and several of the assistants were talking down the hall. "We have an amateur gynecologist on our hands, ladies!" he exclaimed. At that point, my husband was blood red in the face and laughing so hard from embarrassment!
Husbands: Never underestimate the wit of an under-rested OB who delivered a baby in the wee hours of the morning!
