The Second Worst Meal

It all started one suppertime when Jason, our middle son, was about 8. I always tried to serve healthy food to my family. One of the foods I served quite often was fresh fried onions and liver. That evening I had decided to boil some crisp turnips to go with the meat and mashed potatoes.

As we all began to eat there was an awful silence around the table. Finally, Jason spoke up loudly, "This the second worst meal I have ever tasted!" I was so shocked I sent him to his room immediately to ponder his words. After a quick assessment, all my family voiced the same opinion. Needless to say, I haven't served that meal again.
