Countless Kisses

By Alycia Stumbers

My husband, Chris, is a new dad of a beautiful 3-month-old girl, Emily. From the first minute she was born he was in love and immediately wanted to take on the "Daddy" role. At the hospital, while I tried to rest, he fed her and changed her and rocked her to sleep. He talked to her and sang her songs and made promises of a beautiful life with her mommy and daddy.

When we came home he spent countless hours caring for the both of us. I had to have an emergency C-section so I was pretty much laid up for several weeks. He stayed out from work for as long as they allowed and stayed up all hours of the night and day caring for his baby, allowing me to heal. To this day he pitches in from the minute he comes home to her bath before bed. And every day as he leaves for work he kisses Emily's cheek and tells her he loves her and will be back soon.

Now, as a plumber, his regular hours would be tough on most men. But since she was born he has had to take on a lot of extra hours, sometimes working 60, 70, 80 hours per week. He is truly the most dedicated, hard working, loving man that I have ever met, and I love him more than words can say.
