A Gift

By Nikole J. Pock

Jesse Pock, from day one, was the most giving, loving, caring dad. My daughter was 4 months old when we met. We were the complete package deal, and Jesse wouldn't have had it any other way. After the first time Jesse met my daughter, it was love at first sight. How he cared for her, loved her, read to her, put the Band-Aid on her little pinkie that wasn't even hurt, how he tucked her in and kissed her forehead every night for the last seven years – and how the words "da da" just trickled off her tongue so naturally.

His quote to me the other day when a stranger said, "Wow, your daughter has the biggest eyes" and he spoke up and said, "Yeah, she gets that from me." Because that is how he thinks!

Now, he's a new daddy again of our 10-month-old! And talk about "looking alike"; they are identical. And the love he has for not only his two girls, but his three girls – me! I can't explain! It's so REAL, so BIG, so TRUE! I look at him and think, Your life changed instantly the minute you met me. For us, yes, it's expected! But for our girls – it's a gift!
